Would it be possible to use the application Aeris Golf during a golf tournament?

The answer is YES. The possibility exists, although using the default rules it would be "illegal".
Acording to the rule 14-3, the user is not allowed to use artificial tools, to help him in a stroke execution, or to calculate and measure distances, or any other conditions that can affect his game.

As a consecuence of the permanent revisions carried out by the committees in order to have the correct interpretation of the rule, there have been a few adjustments that can allow the use of Aeris Golf. Let's take a look at the next decission in effect:
Decision 14-3/0.5: A committee can establish a Local Rule allowing the players to use devices to measure distances. Devices measuring other conditions, like wind or height, are nor allowed.

So, unless there is a specific Local Rule, the use of Aeris Golf in a tournament is against the rule 14-3. However, in case there is a change in the interpretation of the rule through the local rules of the course of the tournament (Decision 14-3/0.5), the use of Aeris Golf could be allowed.
